Rev. Fr. John Pax, also known as Kelmy Rodriquez, hails from the vibrant neighborhoods of East Harlem/Spanish Harlem, New York. His firsthand experiences have exposed him to the profound impact of poverty, social disadvantage, domestic violence, gang activity, drug dependency, illiteracy, and bullying in various communities across the region.
Despite facing immense personal hardships and tribulations, including addiction, social deviance, and the tragic loss of his mother, fiancé, and daughter to gun violence, Fr. John has persevered and emerged triumphant.
After enduring years of battling addiction and mental illness, he grappled with suicidal tendencies. However, divine intervention struck a chord within and motivated him to break free from the chains that bound him. His journey became a testament to the striving for personal growth, not only for the sake of our creator but for ourselves, our families, and our communities.
Fear is the archenemy of faith! We are only as powerful as our faith and prayers! — Fr. John Kelmy Pax OSB
